The 35th JORVIK Viking Festival returns for another week-long celebration of York’s rich Norse heritage in February 2019
Wednesday 20th to Wednesday 27th February 2019
Why Is The Festival Split Over Two Weeks?
Following visitor feedback regarding the placement of the festival during varying half terms across the country we’ve made the decision this year to run the festival for 8 days across 2 calendar weeks. This will allow people from across UK and abroad to discover, explore and experience the impact of the Vikings at the festival during their half term holiday.
When Will The Finale Events Take Place?
Events including; 10th Century Traders, Strongest Viking Competition, March to Coppergate, Best Beard Competition, Viking Feast and evening ‘Battle Spectacular’ will take place on the weekend of 22nd to 24th February 2019. As this sits in the heart of the new festival dates this will no longer be our ‘finale weekend’ but the Epic Weekend of Vikings!
