JORVIK Viking Festival 2019

The 35th JORVIK Viking Festival returns for another week-long celebration of York’s rich Norse heritage in February 2019

2019 FAQs

Wednesday 20th to Wednesday 27th February 2019

Why Is The Festival Split Over Two Weeks?

Following visitor feedback regarding the placement of the festival during varying half terms across the country we’ve made the decision this year to run the festival for 8 days across 2 calendar weeks. This will allow people from across UK and abroad to discover, explore and experience the impact of the Vikings at the festival during their half term holiday.

When Will The ‘Finale’ Events Take Place?

As the Festival takes place over two calendar weeks this year, events including; 10th Century Traders, Strongest Viking Competition, March to Coppergate, Best Beard Competition, Viking Feast and evening ‘Battle Spectacular’ will take place on the weekend of 22nd to 24th February 2019.
